Talks Machina Episode 91 Highlights: 2-42

This summary has been reproduced from this Tumblr post.

Tonight’s guests are Marisha Ray and Laura Bailey (with special guest appearance from Ronin! Awwww), so I can hardly wait. We’re discussing Episode 42: A Hole in the Plan.

  • Announcements:

    • Brian is bursting with an announcement he’s not allowed to reveal for another six months. His favorite guess: something about him stealing all the money from the company and moving to an island, but that’s actually his long game, not the short one.

    • Throughout November, they’re raising money for Operation Supply Drop, Travis’s favorite charity, which supports both active and retired military.

    • No episode of Critical Role this week due to Thanksgiving. There will also be no episode of Talks Machina next Tuesday; instead, they’ll be airing Sam’s Fireside Chat! This was a reward from the Critter donations to the Pablove Foundation.

    • Critical Role hoodies are back in the store; the print is very similar to the original with a bit more embellishment on the text on the back.

    • “Honey Heist 3: Tova’s Honies” airs this Friday at 7pm Pacific! Marisha: “It was bear-nanas.” Laura: “Oh, no.”

  • Stats for this episode:

    • Jester has cast Blessing of the Trickster 31 times; 15 of those times were on Nott.

    • Jester technically won her bar brawl with Sorris! She dealt 16 points of damage to his 15.

    • Beau continues to have the most natural 20s with 49. She also has the most natural 1s, womp womp.

    • Marisha: “Well, I roll a lot, you know?” Brian: “Well, your husband is also a tyrant and not to be messed with.” Marisha says she thinks Gil’s die is cursed and everyone gasps. How dare.

    • The second art book will be on sale via pre-order on November 12th at 9 AM Pacific!

    • There will be an exciting announcement for Critters in the EU going up on social media on Monday.

  • Stats for this week’s episode:

    • The 200th PC natural 20 happened this episode: Beau’s acrobatics check to land outside the temple.

    • Beau has used 90 ki points so far. The top 3 uses of those ki points have been:

      • Flurry of Blows (25)

      • Stunning Strike (20)

      • Patient Defense (19)

    • At the end of the escape, the party had 6 points of exhaustion and 0 spell slots remaining. Marisha: “I had 10 hit points that whole game.” In typical Beau fashion, she wasn’t telling them anything. Matt points out that this is true of Marisha as well.

    • Fjord is responsible for 30% of all kisses in campaign 2.

Tonight’s guests are Marisha Ray and Liam O’Brien!

  • Announcements:

    • The NYC live show is one week from this Thursday (October 4)! Tickets are available now, and an NYCC badge is not needed to attend. There is much speculation over what on earth Sam’s going to wear this time around.

    • Travis’ episode of Between the Sheets is available for CR Twitch subscribers now and will go up on CR’s YouTube channel tomorrow! Marisha: “He’s like the big brother to us all.” Laura Bailey’s up next!

    • All Work No Play premieres (returns) this Friday night at 7PM Pacific at!

  • Stats for this episode:

    • It has been 61 days since the party found the Cloven Crystal, and 45 days since they first learned of Marius LePual. (The party’s been together about 87 days total.)

    • Beau has avoided 126 points of damage by using Deflect Missiles.

    • Caleb’s top speed in this episode of 120 feet is still a quarter the speed of a hasted and flying Vax: 480 feet. Liam points out that he mostly used the speed last campaign to rush at problems. This campaign, it’s more for rushing away from problems.

Tonight's guests are Marisha Ray, Taliesin Jaffe, Sam Riegel, Liam O’Brien, and Matt Mercer!

  • Stats for this episode:

    • Beau made the Mighty Nein’s 100th natural one by failing to snatch the tip from the dancer.

Travis: Sure, yeah!
Matt: This is true; they don’t have enough to keep track of! Just throw more on the pile! I’m so sorry guys, I’m so sorry.
