We had an anonymous critter request a while back for us to create a list of villains and information about their intentions and deeds. There have been a lot of big bads over the course of 99 episodes, so many that we can't do them justice in one post. We're breaking them up by story arc, continuing with the Whitestone arc villains.

Whitestone

Lord Riskel Daxio

  • Elven fighter
  • Member of the Cult of Vecna
  • Acted as a spy for the Briarwoods within the Council of Emon.
  • Attempted to flee Emon after VM’s return from Whitestone with the Clasp’s help.
  • Executed by Grog after capture by VM and sentencing by Sovereign Uriel Tal’Dorei II.

Countess Jazna Graben

  • Half-orc ranger
  • One of the “new lords” brought to the city by the Briarwoods.
  • Seen patrolling the woods near Whitestone as Vox Machina approached the city.
  • Executed by Grog after capture during the rebellion and refusal to help rebuild the city of Whitestone.

If Vax gets surprise with all those nice assassin bonuses, how much damage (on average), can we expect him to do?

For the sake of this, we’ll say that Vax attacked immediately in order to get a surprise attack, and didn’t have time to cast Hunter’s Mark.

  • 42 (Sneak Attack) + 4 Slashing + 8 Psychic + 8 + 16 Divine Smite  = 78 Average Crit Damage
  • 42 (Sneak Attack) + 4 Piercing + 8 Psychic + 8 + 10 (Sharpshooter) = 72 Average Crit Damage

What is the max damage Vax has done?

Will there be a new Critical Role episode on August 4th (today)?

No; the new episode this week will be live at GenCon on August 6th, at 8 PM EST (5 PM PST, two hours earlier than usual).

I recall that one time Percy crit on his Dead Shot ability and it turned out to be a very cool and badass moment. Do you happen to recall the episode and have a timestamp for when that happened and what was the total damage for that shot?

If you’re interested in crits, you can find all of them at links on our Running Stats page.  We’re pretty sure you’re referring to Percy’s Violent Shot against Lady Delilah Briarwood in Episode 34 (3:39:40). He dealt 50 damage (42 piercing + 8 ice), but because she was wearing the Cloak of Displacement that Vax now wears, she only took 29 damage (21 piercing + 8 ice). While the rogue has definitely been responsible for the most “daggers” thrown, the rest of the cast has shown that they can throw their own fair share.

Do we know what the jug that they got from Umbrasyl’s lair does?

Do we know what spells Sam/Scanlan has taken from him spell thief ability for being a bard?

We’re guessing you mean the spells he’s learned as Magical Secrets.  So far, we know he has Counterspell, Lightning Bolt, Otiluke’s Resilient Sphere, and Bigby’s Hand. He gained two more when he leveled to 14 in Episode 58, but hasn’t had much of an opportunity to show them off as of yet. It is also possible he swapped out Lightning Bolt, Otiluke’s Resilient Sphere, or Counterspell for other non-bard spells when he leveled, as Matt has allowed this in the past and we haven’t seen them used since he leveled.
