A month has passed since the last narrative ran across the wires. While our dedicated stats page for the series has always been available, we’re ready to add it up, break it down, and stretch it out for some of the fun details the first season brought us.

How many times has The Mighty Nein asked about the Tal'dorei Council since Matt's ultimatum?
End of 2019 Fireside Chat (0:10:42) Matt: Every time you ask the question, one of them dies!
2-89 (2:36:21) Liam: Who is on the Tal’Dorei Council?
2-95 (1:07:32) Sam: Who’s on the Tal’Dorei Council?
2-101 (1:52:00) Liam: I don’t suppose the Tal’Dorei Council rings a bell?
2-102 (3:26:34) Marisha: Who’s on the Tal’Dorei Council?
Do you have a list of all the ways Talks Machina starts (the same way they do every week)?
New list, permanently available right here!
In Campaign 1, when did Scanlan get the Message spell? I noticed Vox Machina doesn’t use it nearly as often as the Mighty Nein.
You’re right; compared to the Mighty Nein’s current record of 127 times, it was only cast 3 times in Campaign 1, all by Scanlan:
(C1Ep25, 0:34:50) To Asum Emring
(C1Ep36, 2:04:20) To Grog
(C1Ep64, 2:25:57) To Lockheed
Given that Scanlan was level 11 the first time we saw it cast, he either added the cantrip to his repertoire at level 10, or it was always part of his available cantrips upon his 5e creation at level 9.
I saw your blog post regarding "Pubs of Tal'Dorei." Do you have a similar list for shops, markets, inns, and/or any other points of interest in Tal'Dorei?
There are probably some we’re missing, but here’s a good sampling:

It’s been over two years since we’ve done one of these, but with the Nein’s relatively recent advancement to level 12, it’s time to celebrate as the party begins to hit the truly high level ranks. For those new to the game, here’s the rules:
Only look at single-target damage
Ignore all resistances and vulnerabilities
Assume all attack rolls crit
Assume all targets fail their saving throws
Only count actions taken on a PC’s turn (i.e., no reactions or summoned creature actions)
Bonus actions can be used only before or after the action, not in the middle of an action
Buffs and debuffs from the player only that require set up were taken in previous rounds (e.g., Hexblade’s Curse, Maelstrom Gauntlets, Spiritual Weapon)
NO bonuses provided by other characters
Equipment limited to items used by a specific PC
With the stipulations in place, it’s time to bring the series back!

Encounter Appearance: 2-106 A Fog Lifted
Armor Class 14
Speed 30 ft
Darkvision 60 ft, Passive 10
Immune to Fire Damage
Fire Snake Suggested, Max HP: 22, 40
28 Damage Taken, 14 HDYWTDT by Caleb
After last week’s 13 rounds of combat against Vokodo, Caleb’s throw down with the monster at the end of the tunnel was a welcome 18 second-long spat. Fire snakes are classified as a type of salamander in D&D (not to be confused with the IRL salamander), and are a juvenile version of the full salamander, much in the same way that the piercer is the juvenile version of a roper. We saw that the aquatic fire snake’s bite dealt a lot more physical and fire damage in lieu of getting two attacks per round like the standard fire snake.

You get a feat, and you get a feat, and you get a feat! Everybody gets a feat (or, y’know, an ability score increase)! Except for Fjord. He gets a Hexblade thing. And a new cantrip.
As with the level 8 update when most of the party also benefited from ASIs and feats, we decided to hold off on releasing our update until we could parse what features each member of the Mighty Nein took. It took six episodes, but with only one real unknown remaining, the update is due!

The ruined city of Ghor Veles along Blightshore holds a terrible secret, a vault of shadows beneath the land once known as the Miskath Strand. This dungeon belongs to a powerful undead master named Oracs the Enduring, and is protected by an ever-growing horde of undead (with ranks refreshed by fallen adventurers). As the core part of this defense, the creature built a massive tower, with the sarcophagi of his most loyal disciples anchoring their ghostly remains within. (Interested in learning more Ghor Veles lore? Check out the Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount!)
Unfortunately for the wraith of Lord Cioro and his retainers, his portion of the tower was shorn off by a planar anomaly- Vokodo tearing his way out of the Astral Sea into the Prime Material Plane. Dragged from Blightshore to Rumblecusp, the Miskath Wraith and the supporting tomb spirits found themselves far from their charge, reduced to draining what life they could from the land surrounding their misplaced sliver of architecture.
